Game and Story Synopsis
Released in Japan February 21, 2008, Etrian Odyssey II is reported to be an upgrade to the first one in many ways. There are now a total of twelve classes as opposed to just nine. In addition, the character leveling system is reported to have received modifications as well.
Other reported upgrades were made to the game's highlight: it's mapping system. There are 21 total mapping icons as opposed to the original ten. The player will also be able to choose three different colors to the map path.
The game is also reported to have a better save function that will allow a user to temporarily save while in the middle of a map, rather than only allowing for the player to save in town or at a geopoint.
Other variations include a Force technique that can be performed when the "boost" meter has been filled. The shop also now shows character profiles and the effects of the equipement before purchase.
The game's storyline plays a slightly bigger role than it did in the first game, revolving around the characters searching for a castle in the sky.
Announced as of March 23rd, the game is scheduled for American release June 17th.
