Back onto Lost Odyssey.
Story is intriguing. Jansen as comic-relief is gold (and a rare case of 'I'd rather listen to the dub thanks'. Battles require decent strategy rather than 'mash X to win'. Loving it.

The battle speed seems quite reasonable for a big-budget JRPG (PS1-era FF's were some of the worst offenders), and the load times (which are my #1 battle bugbear) are largely nonexistent on HDD installs. I figure I'll just burn through this fairly quickly - felt like something light and fluffy betwe...

Finished Mass Effect. Plot and aesthetics absolutely spot-on for epic space opera (and a rare case of I-actually-want-the-soundtrack), gameplay just needed some more depth and polish. The sequel is looking mighty promising on that front though. Started Blue Dragon. Battle system more interesting tha...

Well, EDGE are absolute Halo fanboys, but otherwise, I like to see what particular mood their reviewers are in any given month. I get the feeling Mass Effect 2 will have solved most if not all of the issues I had with ME. They hadn't quite wrapped their head around streaming textures fast enough (HD...

The most notorious review was by EDGE, gave the 360 version a 5/10 (cue fanrage). Though I think that was because the reviewer really didn't want to play another stock fantasy RPG. Having said that, I've seen other mag reviews bemoaning the console ports. My only recent experience with BioWare stuff...

Just in case >>
Dampen would do far more than Frailty if you have it. If you're not using Dampen, Elemental damage would probably do better than Midareba though I'd have to do some number crunching to double check that (150% Elemental with <70% Physical would result in better Elemental Dam...

Main group is RP / MGH. I 'killed' him by
basically Metopon/Fraility-ing the crap out of him (this did keep him distracted somewhat), Smiting for the occasional bind and a little extra damage, and Midebara + Risk*.
I eventually ran really low on TP, and didn't have much in the wa...

Yeah, I guess so - any solution that makes getting newbies up to speed more tolerable would be welcome. I've got a bunch of needs not met by my current team: My party cannot defeat Golem without a Dark Hunter (I killed him only to have him regen half his health back! - cue expletives + ragequit), I ...

Played the 360 Bayonetta demo last night. As bananas as expected. I'm no judge of DMC-like action games on a gameplay tech level, but it is particularily frantic and has wonderful art direction. Unfortunately I am a cheapskate and have my 360 hooked up to an old 19" CRT - it's baby-skin smooth,...

Yeesh... On Drama: It's best to assume a forum poster isn't being an ass (yeah, it's the internet, I know), because we all lack the context of body language and (I'm assuming) a history IRL with each other. Stuff written in a neutral fashion by the poster can often be easily misread - but a lot of a...
