Re: How does it compare to previous games?

I thought EO3 was hard to top, but I think EO4 will probably be my favorite in the series so far. I haven't played through everything in it so I can't say 100% yet, but it looks that way so far. I think the order for me is basically EO4 > EO3 > EO2 & EO1 EO4 it seems has a little less powerful /...

Re: Should I retire my team?

You don't have to retire Logre if you retire the rest of your team, you know. You retire each character individually.

Re: Character/Party Build Ideas?

That works for normal attack too, but since Chase Samba is rather a passive skill, I recommend it over normal attack for a one-turn preparation. . I'll probably add the Samba line into my main Dancer's arsenal when I get some more skill points. I'm at the point where I've retired my team at level 7...

Re: Character/Party Build Ideas?

Wow that's a lot of Dancers going around. No objection for Fortress being the default tank class in this game, but I don't think there is any dedicated healing class this time. Sure the name Medic sounds like a healer, but depending on how you subclass him/her, s/he can be a great damage booster wi...

Re: Character/Party Build Ideas?

Hey everyone! Since Etrian Odyssey has returned, so have I! :) I've been playing EO4 for a few weeks now, and I'm really loving this game, as I have with all the Etrian Odysseys. I'm currently working on the fifth dungeon, and think I probably have my party finalized. I like to call them the "I...

I may not be on as much for a while. Mainly due to needing to find a new job. I'm sure I'll be back on more regularly sometime hopefully soon though.

That's mostly the decline of the arcade (that and consoles themselves evolving) though. Yeah, the increasing convenience of online play is definitely what killed the arcade scene. And I did sort of see it coming ahead of time, so I wasn't really too shocked when it happened. It still sucked to actu...

One of my friends, back when he worked at Disneyland, would spend his entire paycheck every week. Once, we took him to a prize-oriented "arcade" (This was the place that had KOFXII)and he literally spent HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS playing ticket games so he could get Simpsons Monopoly. tha fuc T...

Anyway, don't get me wrong, I'd love to have an arcade nearby. My local group of friends don't do fighting games* and I'm loving playing them now and hate online for it (at least now where I suck). I would love to have a place to go to for meeting other people to play against with them in the same ...

I dunno. I grew up with a few arcades and, while fun and atmospheric, I feel a lot of descriptions are romanticized and made to be these lofty pinnacles of the gaming sphere. Or maybe I just missed the cool kids arcades filled with orgies of awesomeness. It kind of varied depending on your area and...
