I was a fan of sub-medic - spare heals came in useful, and I even had another full medic in the party. Then again, I think I came out very "endure to win" early in the game with a medic and a fortress.

So, an update. RX_79_V over on the gamefaqs board found out I made an error in my testing somewhere. Multi-hit skills - I've tested Squall Shot and Rune of Storms - can trigger multiple links with link plus, but only around a 50% rate. Quick tests: Storms - 3 hits = 1 link. 4 hits = 2 links. All maces I've used do crush damage. Fortresses and Samurai use the same maces, so for cut damage with Samurai it's Katanas.

So Dancer/Assassin is awesome for both boss fights and random battles.
