It is not bad, per se, but it IS totally unecessary. The WM alone can handle all the Healing you'll ever need and can still Transfer, buff, and attack as needed. It is honestly a waste of a slot. Personally, 3-5 Nectars completely replaces the Medic class in terms of usefulness; the WM heals enough...

Why use Warmight and Rockskin if your Troubadour already has Bravery and Shelter? Multitarget is always better than single target I think. Oh, I wasn't planning on using the Troubadour in this new group. But I am a buff addict, so, wanted something. Plus they're cheap talent-wise, so it's something...

WM/Hexer Synergy Questions

So, crossposting this to gamefaqs message board as well. I've decided I want to try out the WM/Hexer synergy because it seems fun. Whether I do this by starting a secondary group or retiring my main party into different classes, I haven't decided. A couple of questions, though... 1. How much of a ha...

I think... that I've decided that I will try out a Divinity-free build when I retire Toby at 70. A question or two about Ifrit/Ymir/Taranis... I like plinking away at things with bows, and since the reallyquitegoodbow is unlockable so early, Toby has been a decent damage dealer. But now that the Pro...

So. I went with the Dark Hunter and a War Magus. Worked well. I grinded 'em both up to level 30, then I beat Chimaera. Fun stuff. Immediately following this, I retired them both into Beasts, a white tiger named Asena and a panda named Shepherd. So. They're at like...level 20 or so now, and I'm at t...

I like Troubadours too. I wouldn't invest that many skill points in LUC and Divinity though. You'll gain that experience eventually anyway, and it's 15 skill points you can invest in other things like the elemental defenses or HP or TP or ATK. My Troubadour uses swords btw, and is in the front row....

I <3 My Troubadour

Hi all. So, I first appeared on the forums some weeks ago, asking questions about my preliminary party ideas. The party in question was this: Protector / Dark Hunter Gunner / Troubadour / Medic I picked them basically because I liked the classes conceptually, but as I started playing I quickly began...

Yeah I noticed that trend. I wonder how survivable a front row of just beasts would be. My vague understanding of the beast is that the problem with his Loyalty skill (which makes him defend random party members) is that when he does so, he takes damage equal to the damage they (Squishy McBackrow) ...

I think my big goal for EOII is making the Troubadour work. I'm still experimenting and only on Floor 7 at the moment, so... still working on it. That said, if you want your party to be built around the hexer, the HP increase song will help with Revenge. I also love using the Troub's Force Skill (Cr...

I find it somewhat disturbing that my Hexer's poison hits harder than everyone else, including Shishio(Ronin). Ooo... really? I shied away from choosing a Hexer, since I don't want to use a War Magus, but this makes it sound tempting. I always love poison effects in games. (And in this one, I haaaa...

I feel a little silly adding my own rantage at this point in the thread, since I just started playing, but... Floor 3 is terrifying! I was much more comfortable with set paths. ;.; Fortunately I think I'm going to rest my dudes (to get rid of their harvesting points) and spend some more time on the ...

Also, you can use those one way arrows to indicate which direction they walk in (clockwise etc) --> ^ v ..<-- I know that's a little too excessive but actually looks awesome to see your map filled with their exact movement pattern :P I so agree. I started mapping out the paths with full arrows and ...

Problem is, encounters of raflesia will KILL you. Is that the problem with harvesting teams or with giving your main group some gathering skills? 'cause my main-team-with-gathering-skills has managed to survive Rafflesia so far. (By spamming "Escape", of course, but still.) EDIT: I also t...

Is there any advantage to using Survivalists over regular party members, I wonder? I think the idea is since Survivalists have all three harvesting skills, a full party of survivalists with 5 points in all harvest skills gives you a ridiculous number of item points of every type (take, chop, mine, ...

I like the idea about using three Survivalists... Although, I keep wondering, how much would it really gimp my party to give them each 5 points in their respective harvesting skills? I know I wouldn't get anywhere near the haul I would with actual Survivalists, but I'm kind of ok with that. Then aga...
