Steamroll? Hmm, not if those stupid fungi confuse you first so you can't hit anything nor run away. That was only near the end of Izuna 2 though. The possibility to make enemies easier to deal with by grinding a little every now and then is one of the things I like about RPGs I can understand that,...

I like the Izuna games, but they're very poor roguelikes. By letting you keep your levels, everything else that defines the genre is done away with. No need to worry about equipment, items, learning strats, etc. because you'll eventually become strong enough to steamroll everything by punching them ...

Each time you encounter a forma point in a dungeon (and there are several on each floor) they'll yield multiples of whatever forma they contain. Enemies also drop several each battle usually, so you'll end up with a surplus of the common ones. I ended up selling a bunch for macca since I had so many...

Ah, I see. What you heard about the story is true, actually. It starts off amazing but loses steam later in the game. It's not that the quality of the story gets worse, so much as the pacing gets all wonky. As the dungeons get longer you'll spend more time exploring between cutscenes, so that's why....

Still playing Digital Devil Story Megami Tensei II blahblahblah. Made my way through Bael's castle, defeated him, he turned into a frog. I didn't kill him in his frog form, but rather I took him with me for the super secret fusion later. So now I've met the first condition for the best ending, woo. ...

I didn't get a chance to play Digital Devil Story Megami Tensei II for too long yesterday, but I managed to play long enough to reach the castle of Bael. Went to the armor shop and upgraded my stuff, and now I'm just mapping the place out. Incidentally, I think someone is making a translation patch ...

Nice! It's an excellent dungeon crawler, so I'm sure you'll love it. I beat it three times consecutively for all three endings, so I certainly liked it anyway...

I'm taking an FPS break to play back-to-back sessions of Digital Devil Story Megami Tensei II and Last Bible III. Currently about to fight Pazuzu in Digital Devil Story Megami Tensei II, so I'm about 1/3 of the way done I think? It's still as fun as I remember, though. Last Bible III has a ridiculou...

Oh, and regarding the nudity issue, it's a bit of both. There's a lizardlike demon in the fifth dungeon that appears as a lizard climbing a pole, only its head is a penis (a dick on a stick, as my friend calls it). There's another demon that looks like a dragon, except its head is a woman's torso wi...

None whatsoever. Actually, that review is quite accurate regarding both the good and bad aspects of the game. I think I was the only person defending that review against all the criticism it received on the GameFAQs board, in fact. The story is generally pretty good, but as the dungeons get longer t...

You don't draw the maps out by hand. The good thing is that the game's automapping feature is pretty thorough and places icons for everything from treasure chests to trap tiles. It also adds door icons when you find a shortcut. The only complaint I have is that it would have been nice for the game t...

iPod/iPhone and awful controls almost seem like a given. Kind of sad, really. Then again, the screen is smaller than my hand so ... Vay is particularly bad, though. I don't know if you've played Zenonia, but that game had a directional pad which makes movement not that much of a hassle. Vay, on the...
