A Question Regarding Thread Revival
I've a question regarding inactive threads.
Having recently de-lurked around here, and having had my very first post met (on consideration, rightly) with a *FAIL!* from a mod not minutes after going up, I figured I'd better be more careful about my postings.
So yeah, I haven't found any explicit rules about dealing with old threads, and was wondering if this community has any informal guidelines or conventions about old threads and under what conditions it is acceptable to post replies to them. I'm finding that I have random bits and pieces to add to apparently dead threads, but nothing I feel is really substantial enough to risk infecting the front forum page with zombies....
Example involving B10F:
In the thread titled "The elusive sprout," I kinda wanted to add a note about the location of a sprout I encountered on B10F that was not within that little clearing where Ren and Tlachtga heal your party, but that thread's been inactive for several months. Would something like that be too minor an addition to warrant post-bumping?
I note that in a recently locked topic in the general discussion section, Maxine made a statement that may suggest a general 10-day threshold for thread death, but due to the specialness--for lack of a better descriptor--of that particular thread, I am unsure of the intended scope of that statement.
Advice?

In that particular discussion you are quoting about a "ten day threshold" we merely were annoyed that a member would voice complaint over a thread that was old and held little attention for most of the forums anymore. But that is no longer a relevant matter or a discussion we wish to reopen.
There is no written rule about what I call "topic necromancy" because there isn't any.
I would be annoyed if you revived a topic just to say "LOL" to it and offered absolutely no futher discussion on the topic. But in the example you provided under the spoiler, that is something very interesting that SHOULD be shared and I invite you post it and revive a seemingly dead topic.
If I ever view that there needs to be a rule about reviving dead topics, then I'll write one, but at this point and time, especially considering how many EO fans will say "finally found the first game!", there is no rule and I want the forum environment to be one where people can feel free to post in whatever topic you like no matter how old it is.
If you aren't sure: post it anyway. We might say "didn't need to be said" but XD I certainly do not bite (or I try not to...) and nor will our Mods.
And, honestly, please forgive serious-Kino. ~_^ She has a special passion for making sure people use spoiler tags. :3 She's yelled at me, too, for forgetting to use them. She's scary, isn't she? If you aren't sure, it's best to put things in spoiler tags just to be safe.
Relax. We try to be very lax around here. As much as we can.

As long as the total culmination of images and links does not exceed 450x200 you can stick as many images as you like in your signature. Obviously, when text is involved I'm a little more lenient as it's hard to gauge that.
Yes, you will have a problem of linking to anything with images as our imager will not allow it - I've tried to figure out a by-pass for this but could not.
