That xkcd strip immediately popped into my mind at this announcement as well.

I don't really mind the new password requirements. My only slight problem with the deployment was that my initial reaction to the unexpected password change prompt today was concern that I was being phished somehow.

Although... I haven't logged in to the forum for like a week or two so I don't know if the announcement here preceded the requirement being put into effect.


Edit: Oh. I just now read the other thread in this section about the recent compromise. I guess I missed all that.
