Can you please elaborate as to where this error message was seen? We don't use SSL as a rule of thumb on the site as we don't have a SSL cert.

No, not at all.
I did a quick google search to view for the problem. There are several 'reasons' to receive this and ironically most have to do with Firefox. It's a client-side issue that Kimiko would need to troubleshoot herself. Granted it was a two minutes quick google search, but those were the top results I were getting.

I got that error when I replaced http:// with https://. It looks like a server-side error. Shouldn't it either accept SSL or refuse it properly instead of sending a too large response?
