The thing is that the villager doesn't have a voice, Robin does, I don't know if they'd be willing to record multiple voices for the character for each language or not.

To be honest, I'd be happy with even a default Robin, I'm more interested in just having a Fire Emblem character that isn't just another swordsman.

Technically speaking, the Villager does have a voice. Prior entries had two VAs in addition to Kazumi Totaka. Don't know the full cast, but Totokeke and the original VA reprised their roles. In New Leaf, the female and male both have different pitches for their animalese (which you hear when you write letters or talk to them via dream suite), though I think they are the same VA for this entry.

That said, that is still not an issue. The default Robin is just fine. More so since the female Robin had the same VA for two of her voices anyways. Also, given that they were willing to have like 40 some voice actors for Awakening (if you count DLC), some among the best in the business, I don't think the acquisition of talent is of any concern for Smash Bros. Especially when Awakening had far lower expectations than it had sold, and Smash Bros is the title that will probably make or break the Wii U.

The smash community, especially in Japan, is very excited at the prospect of Robin. The fact she does not have a predefined look is only a boon and part of her appeal. It just opens the doors for variety.

Speaking of which, what is your favourite Pikachu hat? I like the blue googles, myself.

During e3, Smash Bros demos will go live around the US and Canada.

US listing:

Canadian listing:

Doubt anyone around here will be anywhere near me, but I'll be attending the Winnipeg demo on the 11th.

I can sympathise with the idea that customisable characters are problematic, but that Robin, as contrasted with other customisable characters, presents an especially insurmountable challenge just seems like desperate denial.
A noncustomisable model of the avatar is also used in the first cutscene of Awakening.

I like wizardhat-Pikachu. Otherwise goggles.

It truly is my favourite controller for games in a 3d environment, and is most certainly as good as it will get for smash. The buttons seems appropriately sized for the game, what with how much you hit A compared to everything else.

Unfortunately I've never been able to get mine to work with most 3D games on my computer. There's a problem with the C-Stick, so I can't change views. I can still play Jet Set Radio, where you don't need to do that, as well as 2D games.

I love the Gamecube controller because they were daring enough to make something totally without symmetry for the sake of making something that feels nice with most types of games

I just hate the L and R

I wonder if the no taunt rule would apply to Kirby.

And people say the rules of the competitive community take the fun out of the game. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
