DS - No more letters via SpotPass

You guys know that nifty little piece of software that's obtainable through the eShop? I think it's called letter box or something. The one that lets you send letters to your friends via SpotPass. Kinda like mails.

Well it's not doing that anymore. Nintendo found out about minors using it to send 18+ pictures around to their friends and whatnot, and their reaction was shutting down the SpotPass feature of it. I think you could still exchange letters through StreetPass, but...who uses that?

Now I won't be able to receive any of noodles' drawings anymore. I'm sad. What are your thoughts about it?

The worst part is that the streetpass functionality also only works for registered friends. So no one new gets exposed to anything I draw. So to send someone notes, I would have to call them over to my house, streetpass, set a different note to output, streetpass again, set a different note to output...etc. It's basically useless now. It makes me sad.

my point was, they wanted to keep people from sending notes with inappropriate material using spotpass, and simply turning off the photo attachment thing wouldnt have any effect on that.

Like, it's really stupid, but their actions are the logical solution to their issue.

It's funny because last year I was a minor and my friends and I absolutely drew giant throbbing penises to each other and sent them on at least 2 occasions.

Okay. Well. Good thing they shut it down then. Maybe they should put out an update that requires you to verify your age in order to use it again? It's sad that we can't use it anymore because some perverts abused it.

I'm just saying, if they could come up with a good system for checking that stuff, they should consider doing it. I have no idea how it'd work, but I'm sure they can figure out something.
