Odin Sphere and Disgaea 1 - Greatest Hits
If you haven't played either of these games, get out from under a rock and play them ^^. Odin Sphere is a stylish 2D Side-scrolling Brawler for lack of better ways to describe it. Disgaea is a hilarious, albeit Japanese/Anime-inspired sort of way, SRPG with surprising depth. Also, it's better than the DS port in terms of visuals and sound (and doesn't feel as sluggish >>).

Shows some of the other non-combat things you can do (ie, growing Sheep!). The purple "things" absorbed occasionally are Phozons which are used for levelling your Weapon to increase Damage; they also are used to grow plants which yield items that, usually, heal your HP and grant you Health EXP. Levelling your Health will ... well, obviously, increase your max Health.
Worth noting, if you do get it ... I reeeeally hate the first Chapter (Gwendolyn). You might like it more, who knows, but man ... her story isn't that interesting. That and the others are just more fun to play as. I will say that the game isn't very forgiving and you may find yourself dying pretty often against some Bosses ... especially if you don't work on levelling your HP or just flat out suck at the combat (like I did for the longest time >>).

(Incidentally ... I still hate this song.)

My main beefs with the game were it was so damn repetitive; sure, each character plays vastly differently but you're playing the SAME stages for each one. It's the same damn motions over and over. That and the horrible slowdown it has when there's a lot of things going on at once (...or merely just one of the bigger bosses is on screen >>).
Still, it's a solid experience. As for the Laharl cover ... I've never seen one either and I tried Googling it but got nothing. doesn't have it so, therefore, I don't care!
