More often than not, they have to say those stupid things. Many companies demand that their call centre agents say certain phrases, words and go through certain procedures - even when they know it's wrong. It's one of the reasons why a lot of call centres are in India, aside from the fact that it's fairly cheap, the Indian's are brilliant at doing set procedures really well. It's a cultural thing.

Then I'm going to yell. I'm not doing stupid things to my hardware or software just to satisfy some set procedure.

It's not really fair on the agent at the other end of the phone. It's like someone shouting at you because you only had 3 Big Mac's left and they wanted 4, you have to wait for someone at the back to cook the thing first.

There's a big difference between fast food and hard/software, though. Food doesn't crash or stop running your games or error out or delete important files.

*Sigh* So, that's it. *Dusts off her hands* I got my DS in to Fedex and it's being shipped out. *collapses* Now I'm really going to feel the pressure of having no DS.
-_- No Rune Factory... No Etrian Odyssey I or II.... No Sonic Rush.... No Izuna....
@_@ I don't think I can make it....

Well I don't know about anyone else but I sure am having a lot of fun playing on my fully-functional DS here...
Seriously though, big companies are just very inefficient with how they do things. It'll all work out fine but not as smoothly as it might if it wasn't involving a very big company. Your DS will be in a box in a warehouse full of other DS while the guy who's meant to be moving them through to another section is eating his sandwich and playing on Minesweeper or something (doesn't he know you can just edit the Notepad file that keeps all the high scores?)
