What anime are you currently watching?

I've been trying to watch Neon Genesis evangelion for the past 3 months now, but keep getting distracted.

watch it like main series -> End of Evangelion -> Rebuilds???

the rebuilds are dumb marketing ploys imo, they look gorgeous and the story is changed around but it doesn't really add anything other than fanservice

basically the reworking of kaworu and the entire character of mari

because though mari is barely a thing she is heavily marketed, and her existence is basically exploitation of moe traits

and kaworu's first appearance has him naked...and notice how his popularity among fangirls skyrocketed

I have heard similar things from other evangelion fans. Pretty much summed up by one person I was told "they are shit, stay away" (paraphrasing, but that was the idea). Since I have the box set of the original series (and had paid $80 at the time of its release) I don't mind staying away. I'll stick to the original.

Which is sad that I would say that when these days I'm very "meh" towards anime. I think most of today's anime is moe trash. Not that I've watched anything recently but the last anime I watched that was worth my time was Madoka Magica. I like anything with a great story. K-On and other similar things (and fighting anime)... not worth the bother.

decided to re-watch .hack//Sign a few days ago.
It's been nearly ten years, and I still love it (waaaay better than SAO).

A shame the later .hack shows were awful.



Also, can't wait for season 2 of the new Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

about two episode from finishing it, and it's honestly more enjoyable than I remember.

It's funny because if you took all of the rare occurrences of fanservice/unfunny cliche jokes (mostly found in the OVAs) in the show and put them together, you'd have what the majority of modern anime/RPGs have become.
