Depending on what spawns, you can die in the first few minutes of Earthbound.
Hell, I don't think I have ever gotten more than 10 minutes into the original Kid Icarus. Pac-man, I can never beat the first level of Pac-man. Old games are the worst for that, but new games hold your hand too much.

I actually never died in the EO games until I accidentally stumbled into my first Ragelope. I started close to the second game's release and everyone already told me how brutal it would be, so I played it like I would any CRPG and was not afraid of using resources if it meant slow progress.

Though if you give me anything that is not turn/strategy based, I will die pretty fast. (✿◠‿◠)

That reminds me, the EO series does running away really, really well.

Really? It doesn't make sense to me that one person running away lets the group escape.

In which case it's a fighting retreat. They're all trying to escape, but only the one pf them is actively looking for an opening. The rest are preventing the enemy from over-running their position.
