In DnD 3.5, Clerics are a fearsome foe to go up against and typically make fantastic major villains and boss fights... unless your group's most powerful member is a Assimar Paladin running high CHA and armed with a Tower Shield. The party killed their first two major villains, both were Clerics. The Paladin's saving throws are too high for the Clerics, so nothing could stop him from ravaging them and disrupting their spells... man.

Maybe I should just make all the major villains dragons instead >_>

So, a friend of mine showed me her best D&D character(human rogue). The skill set for her made me chuckle:

Perform: Dance
Perform: Wind Instrument
Profession: Prostitute

Surprisingly, her character made more money off of her trade than any adventuring. XD

Anyways, I got a question regarding Dominate Person. I know Ravenloft is a possibility in the future and I know Strahd has a gaze that has the same effect as the spell. I play a good aligned Cleric, so I have a feeling this sort of thing might cripple me somewhat--not as bad as an ex-paladin. The silver-lining would be that by the time I'd have levels in Divine Oracle, which seemingly has no alignment requirement, but I have a feeling that because all my divination spells are divine magic, I'm going to be kind of stuck if I lost my alignment. Because then I'd be unable to level up in either prestige or base.

...I should probably multi-class into fighter, or something, but some of the Divine Oracle's abilities are just nifty.

But I digress, the question is pretty much what typically would constitute an alignment change, if under mind-affecting spells? Like, if my Cleric was commanded to attack his friends, would that make him lose his alignment? Or would he just not have to resist (AKA I choose to not roll my die to save against it) against the actions he does? xP

If a person under Dominate Person is commanded to do an act that's is against their nature, they can resist it and gain a saving throw with a +2 bonus. Example: If you dominate a cat lover and command him to kick cats, he is allowed a saving throw to resist the command.

Even should the command be carried out, it has no effect on the victim's alignment, since the victim is not willingly performing the act. Rather, all alignment affects will be given to the caster instead.
