Monster Hunter 3 (Tri-)

I know some of you may already have some experience with Tri (like my brother and I), but how many of you are gonna play the NA version when it comes out later this month?

I've never played any Monster Hunter games. I'm not even sure what system this is on, or what it is like.

Convince me I need it and can't live without it.

(Assuming it's not on the PS3 or PSP, because I don't have those)

Monster Hunter Tri is going to be on the Wii.

Is why I can't get it, I don't have a Wii.

a-and Metroid Other M is coming out

Day 1 Release for sure, I will be playing for a good month straight XD
How I miss Monster Hunter the original for the PS2 :P
Many things about the kitsune is mercurial, from their moods to their treatment of humans, to even the abilities some possess. Kitsune have a depth of personality as deep or even deeper than those of other Japanese characters. The reason for this, according to one source, is that the kitsune is the Trickster, in Japanese culture. They are there to teach those around them lessons.

Was the original good? I keep seeing it around, for $10-$15 used and always wonder if I should pick it up.

You sound like a big/long-time fan of the series. Any thoughts on what you've seen of the new one? :)

I've only played a demo of some Monster Hunter title on the PSP. It wasn't much fun. Too much action, too little RPG.
Now that I'm addicted to Phantasy Star Portable, I can see how Monster Hunter might be interesting for some, but my playing style is not melee combat. I prefer magic or ranged attacks. I also like to have a team of NPCs with me. I start to feel lonely and scared if I'm in a dungeon alone.

I'm glad someone got a kick out of it XD
Well, I've already got 3 people lined up to play together with. Strength in numbers, my friend.


I generally play as Sword & Shield or Long Sword, as those are the two weapons I have the most experience with. Dual Swords comes in at a distant third.
If you plan on getting it, do you guys already have anyone that will party with you?
