Wondering About Mobile Phone Demographics

What phones are people using? I'm curious about the distribution in here.

I haven't bothered to give Symbian or Maemo phones their own poll entries. Microsoft's newest Kin One/Two and their upcoming Windows Phone 7 are not on the list, either.

I wouldn't call it an OS. I have a fairly ancient (monochrome display, only built-in ringtones) Siemens A51. The only thing I use it for is sending/receiving SMS messages a few times a year.

Had a Blackberry Curve but I murdered it. Was going to replace it with another Curve but my Upgrade through AT&T wouldn't cover so I now has a Samsung Mythic.

My phone is now 3 years old; a clamshell fliptop LG. I like my phone to just be a phone, not an electronic swiss army knife.

I should have had an entry for "phones should just be phones dagnabbit".

I guess I fall into the category of people who don't think of their phone so much as a phone that does other stuff, but as a pocket computer that can make calls.

@Scy: I still have a Curve sitting in a drawer in my office, unused for several years. I can't quite bring myself to get rid of it, but looking at it brings back bad work memories....

No, most people probably don't use smartphones. I guess it depends what you consider a to be a smartphone.

Well, mine is and has "apps" but not the sort of app store you'd see on an iPhone, or a Droid, or a Palm, or a Blackberry.

I don't really understand mobile phones that well...

I have a Samsung Comeback that is nice but so far is purely for family calls. Honestly... I HATE PHONES!
