Yeah, that's basically Nintendo seeing the writing on the wall and going 'oh shit'.
I still think the 3DS is a good platform, and the price wasn't too extreme. I'm still not going to buy one though until some good (as in fitting my taste) games show up.

Strangely enough Animal Crossing is the one I am looking forward to most. Goes along well with portables.

It is a real shame I cannot honestly say I have cared much for Mario games.
Mario Kart, good multiplayer. Super Mario 64, was fun playing it through once. Mario & Luigi: SuperStar Saga, some genuine fun times. Other than that, eh. Not a good track record me considering I have played probably thirty or some games.
They are good games. Just not for me. My tastes are generally off when it comes to popular games. For example, I did not really enjoy Ocarina of Time at all. I had to go and play Link's Awakening and Link to the Past again to remind me of how it could have been if it stayed 2d.

Played Ocarina of Time 3D, Starfox 3D, Super Mario 3D, and Mario Kart 7 at PAX. They were all fun, but I disliked the platform itself. Having to hold the thing at just the right angle at all times was kind of irritating. Doesn't seem conducive to where I would play it the most (the bus), as it would shake around all the time. I don't know. Maybe I missed something. I only spent about half an hour with it total.
