*nods* I respect that feeling, too. I can't speak for other communities but please do not feel pressured while on ItL in diverging personal information that you don't feel comfortable giving out. It took a long time before I began to place my name out there and that's only because I was like "this is my property that a future employer may see and that I'm putting into a portfolio - I want my name out there".
For me, there's a big distinction between internet and real life. I'm sure it's something my mother hammered into me, fretting about my safety, but it's a good practice. Also, all the assholes I've run into that enjoy making fun of a fat girl when she places her images up online. *shrugs* If I had any less self respect for myself such comments would hurt. Who needs that.
