I do not buy that term. I cannot imagine a bisexual who would turn down anyone just because they do not fall evenly on the gender binary. I am sure that the term is so uncommon, because it is unnecessary. At least that is how I feel, though I am a gender-blind androgyne so what do I know?

Lol I so agree. I've been attracted to a trans guy before, and I consider myself straight. It all comes down to personal preference and taste. Sexuality is not in any way a black and white thing. And lol the breast cancer analogy. Also I would totally name my band that, if I was hipster enough.

I think my whole point was that, since pan/omnisexuality is not common-use, bisexuality should be the term used for whenever someone's preferences are not dictated by a uniform gender. It is not to say the term pansexual is useless, so much as what we have works. Even the term "LGBT" does not go out of the way to include 'P'. Though interestingly enough, depending where you live, it may include more. Some places have 'Q' for queer, and around here, we have LGBTT, with the added 'T' being for two-spirited.

I think pushing to make pansexual a globally accepted term (like bisexual, which everyone already knows about), would just end up confusing their already fragile minds.
