Finally, a world without gender. Gone are the days where restrooms are segregated and fashion separated. Beauty will be universal and parenting platonic. Society will no longer have to make silly assumptions and set ridiculous expectations on behaviour based on a biological flip of the coin.
We are all pansexual androgynes. We reproduce with our minds.

Hey, I like genders. Both of them.
Though I gotta admit some of the social stuff we could do without.

Cooties are desirable! Collectible, even!

Ew. We do not need genders. Everyone should be able to just be whatever they want, wear whatever they want and do whatever they want without judgment.

So, what if someone wants to be a specific gender?

That is a tricky situation.
What if we were born to never know gender?
I mean, theoretically speaking, if we were all just hit by a cosmic cloud that took away all our genders, then people would be free to still identify as women or men if they so choose. There would just be a whole lot more androgynes.

That's okay.

I disagree. I mean, yeah, you're free to decide to want what you want, sure. I just, personally, see a sort of... beauty, I guess, in those differences we can't just choose. I like male, I like female, and I like different things about them. And I feel that it is a part of who you are, as much as being absent-minded or focused, lazy or hyperactive, social or reclusive, liking spicy foods or sweets. Well, that's mostly just hormones it contributes, I guess, but call it an effect of gender.
Now, if we were born totally without gender? Well, that'd be how it was. We'd have no concept of it actually being different, just like how we could wonder what it would be like if there were three genders (not counting adrogynous/hermaphrodite/etc.).
