I definitely appreciate Valve's work, and I enjoyed the soundtrack to HL1 more so than the sequel, but something about the second's just doesn't click with me. It's most likely due to the fact that while I enjoyed the second one, I wasn't drawn in as far as I was with the first or Opposing Force. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a game with very good, if limited, usage of ambient music to really build up the atmosphere. Although I must admit for a few sequences in both of them the music was fast paced and really made those parts stick out.
