...jeez I don't put this much thought into pokemon

I play it mainly for the adventure and exploration and sense of accomplishment. If I beat the game and, like in Emerald, I don't get any new place to explore, I am bummed. I don't give two shits about a battle tower. I want to explore.

I gave my Gallade Leaf Blade, Night Slash, Psycho Cutter, and Swords Dance because they are all swordy moves and Gallade has swordy arms

I got rid of Gardevoir's Shadow Ball in exchange for Attract because other pokemon should be falling in love with her at first sight.

I gave my Crobat Cross Poison and X Cutter because his wings make a X

I gave my Gyarados Ice Fang because GRAAA FUCKING BITE YOU GRAAA

and I had a lot of fun beating Diamond/Pearl

That sounds like my kind of illogic, Noodles. I play games for the exploration too, stats be damned.
In the EOs I put together the parties I had because the classes fit the characters' personalities, not because they were the best for offing FOEs.

I hate this argument. It always happens. Always.

I like numbers. It's my deal. With the way things were worded, I thought we were going down that route since numbers and stats came into play. Pretty much anything I say comes with some metagame / "NUMBERS?!" kind of bias.

Edit: Not that I find a problem with a roleplaying or whatever else kind of outlook but if we start talking about what is "good" or "better" or any other kind of analysis ... sorry, numbers matter. If it's a "good enough" kind of deal or "fits character" ... that's a different story.

Hrm ... argument was probably the wrong word. Just meant I hate when the whole, "hey hey, numbers? I'm not numbers fuck that lol roleplaying" or whatever bullshit. It always happens. Always.

Aw, it's okay, Scy. Some people just like playing to figure out the formulas behind the game. Others prefer not to think of the numbers that make the story tick. To each their own.
