Meh, so, I stumbled on this about a year ago. I was looking at my desktop, bored, this morning and realized that it was still on there and that since it was there and I had taken the time to download it a long time ago (someone had refered me to it, I can't remember who, though) that I might as well try to play it.

My first problem with it at the time was it wasn't a "choose your path". It's a very strict "visual novel" in that it reads more as a short fiction novel with pretty pictures, some voice acting, and beautiful music. Started it today and finished it today. So, not long at all. I could probably have finished it quicker, too, except there seems to be only one speed for the words: slow. bah!

Next problem was, to be quite blunt: it's a sad story. The game's official tagline synopsis:

This is the story
of a girl whose heart was standing still
and a boy whose breath was being stolen away,
both of whom die.

DOESN'T hide anything. No spoilers, no shitting with you.

When I downloaded the game I wasn't in the mood for depression.

I was up to it today. Good thing. It had me bawling like a baby tonight. :3 But, I loved it. Enough to where I'm going to recommend it to you guys.

It's actually just a download. Non-profit. This site is the site of the fans who translated it to english: http://narcissu.insani.org/index.html <-- go to downloads and they have the whole game there (don't read much of the site, btw... it gives too much away and a few pages are marked spoilerish even). There are two translations for this game. If you do "voiced" you get one translation. If you do "no voice" you will get another translation which is in-keeping with the game designer's idea who sticks a few more description pieces into the non-voice side. I prefer the "voiced" translation, though.

Meh, *wipes hands* there. Hope someone decides to play it. :3 It was a very sweet story and I really did enjoy it. It might have ended tragically, but this is the sort of stuff that I really love.

FYI: It was ALSO, ironically, the sort of story I was looking for when I was asking people for anime recommendations for a cute love story. *sigh*... but... I need more...

^_^; I cry WAY too easily. :[ I get pissed off and frustrated and I start crying. Which pisses me off because I'll be ranting to my boss about some girl and I start crying when I'm NOT THAT emotionally vested.

... I've cried because the codes I typed up for my designs didn't work.

Anyway, the story isn't "perfect" but it was very adorable, sad, and enjoyable. I hope you enjoy it.

If my life cleared up, I'd be very happy as it means I'd finally have a nice stable girlfriend If you're free now, I'M ON TEH AIMZ so whatever. I got time before a party and I don't THINK I need to buy booze and my main distraction just left me alone so I'm sad, lonely, and a pitiful person.

Except not the last part since I'm fucking awesome.

Edit: Also, words confuse me so maybe I should reeeeally slow down the drinking or something.
