Dream land

Postby Kinokokao » Tue Sep 09, 2008 1:30 am

What are some really crazy or recurring dreams you have?

My top recurring dreams are utterly banal:
I'm late for work because I can't find anything to wear in my closet. Oftentimes this is inexplicably my childhood closet but it's filled with ridiculous nonsense I don't even own.
I'm at work and trying to shoo customers out at close. I'll go around and around in circles, the store often changing appearance as I herd customers toward the exit.
I'm at work and can't find something for a customer.

These are all dreams that tell me I've been working too much -_-;

In middle/jr/high school my recurring dream happened after my alarm went off. In reality I'd slap snooze and promptly go right back to sleep. In dream land, I got up, got dressed, and even sometimes made it out the door and on the bus before my mother would suddenly "wake" me up. Often I'd have that split-second of dream/reality collision where I'd protest "but I am awake!" as I came aware.

I have very weird dreams of all types. I've dreamed as another person, as a boy, as multiple people in the same dream, and as myself. I've had lucid dreaming. When I was having nightmares constantly I developed a way to quickly pull myself out of a dream.

I find dreams utterly fascinating!

I still remember a nightmare of my childhood. I was too afraid to go to bed for days.

Damn that was crap.

I used to fly (more like float) a lot in my dreams a while back, but I realized I haven't for a while now.
Dreams are all weird nonsense anyway, so I don't bother to remember them longer than a few minutes after waking up.

I only remember dreams every once in a while.

I have problems with dreams that I get within a few minutes of falling asleep. They more often deal with work or life. I'll be going through the motions as if I were awake but I'm painfully aware I'm trying to sleep and I can't stand the actions. I have to jolt myself awake again to get myself to go sleep.

My dreams never have any meaning and I never think of dreams as ever having meaning. Just my overactive imagination going wild. I've dreamed everything from being in a video game to actually being a character in one of my stories.

I have the occasional dream about being in school when I've graduated (LOL) and it being a torturous experience. (I actually wander my old schools as if I were just there the day before... halls I haven't walked in YEARS.)

I have never had any flying dreams and even when I run, my actions are so incredibly languid. As for nightmares... I stopped being afraid of them, actually. Honestly, they are always the same. I'm being chased, I'll hide somewhere, and get stabbed in the small of my back. Why am I not afraid? Because when I wake up, the feeling is still there... -_-; I've gotten into a bad position and pain is REALLY shooting from that sensitive area.

I once had a dream about a ghost, like a silhouette framed by light. I went to bed teh next night and was staring up at my ceiling towards my door and found myself staring at that ghost again... It was a strange affect caused by the hall light being on and seeping through the few cracks at the top of the door.

Which gives you another hint at my nightly actions. My sister has walked in to waken me and says that she's found my eyes wide open. She thought I was awake. She has also heard me having whole conversations. And she believes that there are three times in our lives that she has caught me actually sleep walking. Believable since I've woken up some nights to find myself on the toilet with no recollection that I had gotten up to visit the restroom.

My dreams are generally less about me doing things and more about absolutely insane shit happening.

A boy lives on a grain farm

he finds a book

he opens the book

BAM

the sky turns black with the exception of an orange vortex around the sun

the nearby city is in ruins

the ground is scattered with colossal dinosaur skeletons

the skeletons begin to move...

awesome, crazy stuff like that.

Like...Steve Irwin coming back (HELL YEAH) and living in a mansion. The SOS Brigade visits him, because Haruhi wants an undead guy for a member. He turns them down, and sells the mansion to a soldier. Apparently the mansion was REALLY a huge battleship disguised as a mansion, and then you see this massive floating house sinking hundreds of ships. It breaks down. The only people on board are the soldier and his female acquaintaince (girlfriend maybe) and their relationship is strained. There was a whole shitload more, involving a mech traveling along the sea floor, the two people using a crystal's power to transform into sea beasts, and then falling in love (all over again?) after they prove how much trust they have for each other. After that they either died or lived happily as sea beings, but some Clone Troopers found the derelict mansion/battleship(/casino[/mansion]) and LIVE there. Then more clone troopers come and say "lol wut r u doin" and pull them out of there....man I don't feel like typing everything, but it goes on for a while.

Yeah, my dreams take the form of visual narratives.

I have those types of dreams, noodles! They're the type I end up using as story ideas.

I dream every night and if it's worth anything I'll remember it for a long time. :] If it's uninteresting I'll remember it for the rest of the day at best. I realize that a lot of people don't remember their dreams too easily so I consider myself gifted to be able to recall them in full every day.

Last night was weird. I had a dream where I was some sort of research subject. I escaped out of my room unnoticed and was running around the building to find a friend who I apparently wanted to liberate. Later on in the dream I threw a computer monitor through a window and climbed out with said friend. We ran and ran until I got to a harbor and my mother was waiting for me. Then sailed away and woke up shortly after. I think the dream reflects on all the studies I've been a part of through out my lifetime.

As for reoccuring dreams, I can't say much. What's kind of creepy is I sometimes hear someone call my name when I wake up. At first I considered it me being crazy but now that it keeps happening even when nobody is home... well it's kind of scary. :[ The only trait that is common in my dreams is the strong emotional response. If I see someone murdered, brutalized or raped in my dream I'll be on the edge for the rest of the day. If I get to do something wonderful in my dream then I'll be a little more cheerful when I wake up. I guess being able to memorize the dreams as well as I do has a downside.
