Here are some new images of Sega's NDS RPG Seventh Dragon. The story takes place in a world dominated by reptiles and dragons, and the beasts are headed by seven powerful dragons. Their habitats grow a type of deadly flower, which would crystalize and kill any human near them. In the game you are on a quest to eliminate these dragons one by one.

Seventh Dragon will have randomly generated dungeons like in the Sekaiju no Meikyu [Etrian Odyssey], there are different job types you can choose from, and there is a Skill Tree system for you to learn different skills when level goes up.

^_^ We've discussed this in another topic already, but it's great that you made this topic. That's fine. I will check out the videos later.

However, Etrian Odyssey did not have randomly generated dungeons. :\ They were pre-made for maximum intensity. Randomly generated means they are different every time you play the game.

I think januscrell was implying the game generates dungeon with the same labyrinth style as Etrian Odyssey (often narrow branching navigation) and not that Etrian Odyssey itself generates random dungeons.

That trailer was kind of bad in my opinion. :[ It probably meant to feel epic or something.

Etrian Odyssey feels pretty retro to me, probably because it's reminiscent of early computer RPGs. =p Only you had to find paper to draw your own map. With the two EO games and Mega Man 9, I'm a little retro'd out... which isn't stopping me from picking up Kid Icarus, again!

Retro to me is Metroid, Mega man, and even Icewind dale, cause I can't go older than any infinity engine game.

...so, no news regarding this game?

Same here, retro to me is around the NES/Sega Genesis era.

Not that I'm aware of. Sorry :(
Although, me and Trance will most likely end up playing the Japanese version XD

In other news:

* The art just happens to be nearly identical to that in EO.

* The in-game menus just happen to resemble those in EO.

* There just happens to be 4 different character portraits for each class.

* Yuzo Koshiro just happens to be composing the music for the entire game.

* The director of EO I and II just happens to be on board the project.


Things seem to be looking up :D
