They all seem to have limited appeal. I enjoyed Rappelz while for a while, for example, but a lot of people couldn't stand it for long. My friend is always saying we should play FlyFF but I find that game is a stale, miserable, slow experience. To enjoy SMT: IO is possible, just like you said, it will appeal to a set audience.

I pay mostly payed (or should be payed) MMOs so I can't recommend anything. :[

I tried Rappelz for awhile. The graphics were quite nice, but I couldn't stand the point and click movement. SMTO uses WASD controls, which I prefer since I played WoW for two years.

And no big deal on the lack of recommendations, I'm sure I can find something with a little research once I finish with SMTO :]

I have never had friends in an MMO or been part of a guild or anything (not even in Guild Wars looool)

except for Second Life, but let's not talk about that <_>

Also, I remember trying Flyff, it was awful

I only liked Cabal. -_- I either find the gameplay aweful, the camera aweful (even SMT's is aweful), and very uninspired/rushed.

<_< I really wanna find a game that other of my friends are in. I know SMT isn't the greatest, but nothing else that I've played is, either, at least the Demon Hunting and acquiring is very fun :3 and I love the fact that the scenery doesn't just feel thrown together (like "oh, let's throw some grass here... oh a rock here - oh fuck it put a small 5x5 pond here with no aparant water source that's just in the way of the players").

Edit: And time. Usually sift through the folder some to try to find what I'm looking for.

I do have the folders somewhat organized so I know where to go for "haha funny pictures" instead of wallpaper-quality art or "yeah you'll probably find this offensive" stuff. Doesn't help that much but ... still.[/spoiler]
