Falco and Wolf > Fox in Brawl~
Also, because someone may appreciate this (or hate me forever): is Rune Factory Frontier for $30.
Anyway, I enjoy the increased graphics but not to the point that "ooh shiny" makes a game good. I feel it's a nice bonus thanks to the improved hardware. That and the increased graphics (and/or physics) allows for better immersion if the game does things right.
Vibrant colors just doesn't fit the grittier tone that most new games did, not that I agree with SPACE MARINE BROWN and UNCHARTED WORLD GREY as color choices for every fucking thing. Uncharted's (PS3) jungles were rather vibrant and is one of my "go to" games for pretty and not BROWNGREYBLACK(red eyes Killzone 2).
Plus darker tones lends itself to showing off graphic prowess better than brighter colors. Brighter colors, brighter lighting, etc. lends itself more towards hiding faults. If a varied color palette is to be used, they tend to be dull colors.
TEND is the keyword of the day! Uncharted is still one of the better looking PS3 games and it uses rather lush colors, for example.
