Tea doesn't have much caffeine in it though. Especially green teas.

I believe that Black Tea has approximate half the amount of caffeine as coffee, and green tea has about a third.
I'm sure it is more the hot liquid and being up, about, making the tea, drinking it, etc., but I do feel alert and awake when I drink tea. I don't want a ton of caffeine anyway, especially in anything where it is added (like in soda).
