Mission #1b: "Just need someone to stay out of my way..

Mission Name: "Just need someone to stay out of my way..." (Note, I'm calling it Mission 1b, because it's pretty much the same mission with a different title, different people.)

Brief Description of the Mission:
Bartender: "Ah, the client's a weird one, that one. He came in here, and said exactly what the proposal states. "I just need someone to stay out of my way to accompany me in the Labyrinth." He shrugs and starts filling out your order otherwise. "And the reward's not that great either. His justification is that he insists that he can take care of himself, and all he needs is for the group to get past the guards with him." The bartender then snorts and laughs at his own statement. "Aha! That's a good one! A solo alchemist in the labyrinth...a dead one more like it! Well, if he doesn't survive, you don't get the En. Them's the breaks, I'm tellin' ya. But usually, people don't pay to join your group, so! Let me introduce you to him..."

Objective: Meet and accompany the alchemist as he maps the first floor.

Reward: 50 En.

Minimum # of people needed to sign up: 1 (Aside from Dwayne.)
Maximum # of people allowed to sign up: 4 (Aside from Dwayne.)

"An Alchemist going solo into the first stratum without training? That's tantamount to suicide. I needed to kill an afternoon anyway. Sign me up, barkeep."

James turned to face the new arrival, taking a long sip from his own drink.

"Well, yes. Someone has to help the kid through his shakedown run. The money is barely enough to pay my bar tab, but there's always something special about helping the newbs out."

Polishing off his drink and placing the cup hard down on its coaster, James hoisted his sword up, still sheathed, and rested it against his shoulder.

"Besides, I like his attitude. It reminds me of me."

"Bah, he's likely to wind up in the Apothecary for a stay even longer than you!" The bartender chuckled.

"If he does, I'll cover it." James smirked. "They charge a discounted rate for healing newbs. It'll be... What, 10En? No problem."

(I guess not many more people are going to join in. Ah well, three is a decent party...)

"Hrmph. Killing a human, even a thousand men, is not the same as killing a F.O.E."

A figure rose in the corner of the room, a figure that you noticed studying a thick book earlier, raven-black straight and long hair covering one side of his face until he brushes the hair aside. Lanky, yet somewhat lithe in terms of muscular tone, his pale skin was mostly hidden by his black garments, save for his scarf, which was a deep violet.

"Ah, didn't see ya there, lad. Are you ready to challenge the labyrinth by yourself?" The bartender asked with a chuckle.

The alchemist ignored the bartender, and spoke directly to the two adventurers. "I'm your client. Anything you wish to know? Questions bother me, so try not to ask me too many," he said, aloofly skimming over his thick textbook-esque tome.

"Ya could at least look at them when yer talking ta them!" The bartender snickered again as he said this.

"...I don't waste my efforts on trivial things. Like so-called 'etiquette'. Feel it's a waste of time, especially to those who have yet to earn my trust."

"There are only three ground rules I insist on," James said, regarding the newcomer. "One, you tell us up front exactly where we're going. Oh, I'm aware that the job listing is for the first floor, but I want to hear it from you."

James looked contemplative for a moment before continuing. "The second is an equal share of all salvage found for all involved. I shouldn't have to explain why this is necessary."

James sighed, his demeanor hardening a bit. "The last is the most obvious, but we are to avoid any FOEs we see on the first floor. Much better for me to come back with a guild unit later and deal with the problem that way - not even I'm insane enough to take on an FOE by myself right now."
