Physical Description: Standing about 5' 10" Tall, this battle-scarred Ronin has blue eyes and several deep scars on his back, arms, and neck. He has dark brown hair pulled back in a ponytail and wears slightly more armor than most Ronin (presumably this has everything to do with his deplorable record, see below). He usually has some piece of his armor bedecked with some piece or another of a monster he killed - currently, this is a Clawbug's severed claw. The armor he wears is the sort normally worn by Landsknechts and is believed to be the keepsake of a fallen friend.

Personality: Cocky, hot-tempered, and entirely too bold, James fancies himself a grizzled, labyrinth veteran, and to a degree, he is, insofar as he's slightly more skilled than your average Labyrinth newbie. Unfortunately his skills are nowhere near on par with his mouth, and his wise-ass demeanor and complete unwillingness to back down generally means that he's gotten into a series of bad situations. He holds the dubious honor of having, currently, spent more time in the local Apothecary than in the field. The group he used to work with fared little better; economic concerns forced the group apart some time ago. James took the mantle of being the Guild's Leader thereafter (no one is left to fill the job), and redesignated it towards the goal of hunting down FOEs. He can be outright overbearing and bossy courtesy of seeing a lot of good people die to these monsters, though he genuinely means well.

James has a creed of "Do or Die," wherein "Do" means "Hunt down and kill FOEs." James has a deep dislike of FOEs - especially ones with actively anti-explorer predatory habits - like the known-and-feared "Stalker." When he was first setting out, his group encountered one and was massacred. He's gone after similar monsters a few times now, and hasn't had a terrible lot of luck (though he is rumored to have worked with a group that has taken down a Furyhorn/Ragelope). From any strong monster he takes down, he takes a trophy from, and usually tries to incorporate it into his armor somehow. He keeps active notes on most monsters he encounters, and due to his constantly killing (and getting his ass kicked by) them, has a wealth of knowledge about some of the Labyrinth's inhabitants. He never passes up an opportunity to drop his expertise, and never passes up an opportunity to attack an FOE; he views most as murderous beasts to be exterminated. This viewpoint has more than once gotten him into conflict with those looking into doing research on the Labyrinth's denizens.

Despite this, he can be quite charming, and has a reputation as a shameless flatterer of women (this gets him in trouble as well). He also has a weakness for helping neophyte adventurers; having been there and seen what the risks are, he sometimes signs on to assist those who are just getting used to the Labyrinth, and occasionally hires himself out to help train individuals who are planning to make a lengthy run of it. This has had the results of getting him popular with some of the newer arrivals, but also getting him ribbed by other veterans, for being a "scrub lover." He is loyal to a fault once befriended and is extremely protective of those who hire him.

He hasn't talked about his background much other than his time working with a group that had to seperate due to ever-increasing medical bills. Why he hasn't given up the fight in and of himself is, as of currently, a mystery.
