I can't remember if it happened to me once, or if it just almost happened. I have a strong suspicion it did though because they're still the first ones a kill when I see them

When I first began playing EO I was gung-ho, and softened by other RPGs. After getting my organs thrown at me several times I learnt to slow down and stay near the exit until warp wires/ariadne's thread became available and easily affordable.

[spoiler]I had at first guessed it would be weak against lightning, but after weapon attacks infused with that element didn't make much of a dent, I tried other things. It turned out for me that elemental spells with the zodiac did much more than element-enhanced weapon attacks. *shrug*[/spoiler]
