Wanted to ask about the endgame/true ending

[spoiler] I have both the shard and the bowl, have talked to the deep one in the molten caves, and nothing has happened. He smiled and said our conversation was over. I have not taken the 5th stratum mission and thought I was following the directions to the letter. Am I missing something, have I messed up?[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Did he give you the P. Offering? if so, you go back to the porcelain forest as per normal, and you'll be called to go to the abyssal shrine once you get to the end of the forest.

Hum, I'm wondering if I'm missing something with the weapons that can be crafted with bosses' loots, for example I just beat one and his (normal) drop unlocked a nice katana with 4 slot, which has slightly more ATK than my current one and four slots instead of one, but what utility do those slots have if for forging they require another boss drop of the same type? Am I supposed to farm the boss here and now multiple times to take advantage of that weapon? It's not like I won't find a better one a couple of floor's ahead (ok, probably with less slots, but still...)

You do have to refight the boss to get the materials to forge it, kind of annoying.

I have a question regarding skills. I am currently having a lot of difficulty with those electric "whales" in the 4th Stratum. A friend suggested Head Binds to stop the skill from happening but I don't want to break out a Pirate right now.

So my question is about the Smoke Grenades skill, is the 80% chance good enough? Does it work on Deep Mediums' spells as well? 5 points may not look like much, but my Zodiac/Arb is some fifteen points away from Double Action.
