It can't MAKE rar files, but it can still extract them, and it's faster from what I can tell.

They're roughly equivalent and both open each others formats, so its really a question of which interface you prefer. I have WinRAR.

I love the new designs! (Though they were a shock at first, to be honest. I'll miss the first bands of explorers.)

But I was wondering - has anyone noticed the similarities between some of the character designs for EOIII to the old ones? Granted, there are only so many variations Himukai can draw, but I like to think that some of the new characters are AU versions of the old ones.

For example:

Some of these are a stretch, I realize, but what do you think?

Its more that there are only so many ways to draw an anime style character.

Also, that Zodiac always seemed more blonde to me. Much like an EO version of a Touhou Marisa, actually.

But, the original artist also definately has a need to keep links running through all of his work. There has also been a long running blonde mascot girl character (Protector => Gunner => Princess).

The alt version of that zodiac looks more like Louise from Zero no Tsukaima than the regular version looks like Marisa.

Normally I get these references, but now I gotta look them up. Haven't been watching enough anime.

Also, anyone else notice the letters on all the androids? the green haired female has a SK on her left arm. The blue hair seems to have an SS on her left arm. The orange gray has a P on his right shin guard, and the other one has a C on its blade hand. Anyone think it means something? Like another reference in design?

@eharper: Haha, very true. The Princess is my favorite EO mascot so far! She seems a lot more gung-ho than the Protector and Gunner. They were cool, but too serious.

No idea who any of these characters are since I haven't watched anime in ages, but in some fanart really reminds me of Fate Testarossa from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. strikes me as an anime version of The Little Prince, too.

Sorry for the potentially dumb question, but what are the androids?

Protector is Haruka-nee from Minami-ke.
And Gunner is definitely a tsundere.
