I know plenty of people IRL who play Shin Megami Tensei, but apparently nobody makes the leap to EO. It's kind of sad sometimes...
The answer to your sailing question:
[spoiler] The next item after Raisins is the Sauerkraut, which gives you 20 turns at a cost of 130 en, vastly overpriced in my opinion. It is given to you for finding Batavia, a town in area D6 of the map. You'll need the Foremast to get there.[/spoiler]
I wish you luck in your future sailing expeditions.

Hmm, how does I get [hide]the third slot [/hide]in my ship so I can has the [hide]culverin cannon[/hide] and [hide]the foremast[/hide] together?
I managed it in the JP version, but I seem to have forgotten the conditions for it, though I have a sneaking suspiscion it might require defeating the first boss/entry into second stratum. I've already returned the [hide]master shipwright to Batvia[/hide], done the [hide]pepper quest[/hide], and basically mapped out all of the [hide]Southern Seas[/hide].

Just been doing the Sea Quests, and they're sweet!
[spoiler]The limit script rewards are amazing, as are the gear rewards. Considering the challenge level (even though I am ridiculously overlevelled for the ones I am doing currently) is not very high compared to the rewards, doing these quests are a must for anyone who wants an easier time of it in the labyrinth. Inferno script ftw! [/spoiler]
Side note: I want shogun D:
Also I've gotten a lot further on now, still need to check whether I have finished off the Southern Sea...

Should be cleared up [hide]after you've gotten to that Tower of Victory, which you can get to with salted meat/foremast/steel plating AND the iron naval ram, the shipmaster will reward you with a special item that you receive once you reach the 5th stratum.[/hide]
That was frustrating me too until I reached the [hide]tower[/hide]
