After EO3. EO1, 2 or something else?

Postby Benkyo » Tue Nov 30, 2010 1:13 pm

I really enjoyed EO3 up until I burnt out grinding for the post-game. The exploration and mapping were really fun.

I love roguelikes, and challenging games in general.

My question is, is it worth picking up EO1 or 2 next, or will they just feel like a step backward?

Are there any good alternative NDS options, in Japanese or English? I've no experience in the first-person dungeon crawler genre other than some half remembered Eye of the Beholder/Stonekeep games from my childhood.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

If you hated the grinding in EO3, you'll hate the grinding in EO1. EO2 is iffy since boss grinding is trivial but, then again, so is EO3's post-game grinding. I guess EO2's is "better" since it's all one-shottable bosses that you ambush >>

Anyway:
SMT Strange Journey (US)
The Dark Spire (US)
7th Dragon (JP)

If you have a PSP:
Class of Heroes
