Cheating Your Game
...
I introduced the game to my cousin.
He got it playing, and I found out that he is using R4 for his DS Lite,
And he has Action Replay Codes for the game.
He used the cheats.
This includes Skill Point Multiplier, as far as I know.
Wouldn't that make the game boring?
I mean, cheating makes you get all you want.
So playing the game is useless.
Or only if he wants the story only, that is.

Re: Cheating Your Game
Yeah, it kinda spoils the whole point since EO games are made to be challenging on purpose.
... Though EOIII is far from challenging compared to the other two anyway >_>

Yep, and that he cheated it. :l
"Skill Point Multiplier", eh?
Sounds like getting tons of Skill Points. O.o
Did you try cheating some game?

Re: Cheating Your Game
I use my R4 from time to time to quickly test builds and such (and have the ability to swap out multiple saves (!!), but with EOIII, you can give your characters max stats and really take the challenge out of it (not that you couldn't just grind books, but w/e).
However, in EO I & II (especially I), you can cheat all you want and still get raped by late and post-game enemies XD

Woah, woah.
You're kidding me?
You still get raped?
I haven't done any play-through yet.
If you're serious, then I think I might play 2nd time!
But NO cheats! ^_^
And hey, do you use Wood r4? Just making sure.

Re: Cheating Your Game
It's a little misleading, though. It's more apt to just say that the stats of EO1 and EO2 aren't as relevant to the situation. Sure, they have some impact and do govern basically all the formulas but the damage multipliers and base power of a lot of the post-game encounters just flat out trump raw Defensive stats and most skills just don't do all that much damage in the grand scheme of things.
EO3 smooths things out a bit and allow for a lot more variance in the defensive options for almost every encounter either due to limited damage types or pattern-recognition.

Don't mind him, he just likes to argue. Even when he's in agreement with you <3

It's not really arguing if he's always right

Re: Cheating Your Game
Only cheat I've done in EOIII was those two exploits you could do in those Seahunt Quests or whatever for less hassle on grinding.

Re: Cheating Your Game
Argument has such a negative connotation to it. It's unfortunate that any and all discussion ever here is always that kind of argument rather than a discussion. And by all discussions I mean any discussion I'm in.
All I wanted to do was just make it clear that it's not due to the encounters being "OMG THIS IS SO HARD" but just that the stats don't do much. Hell, the Skill Points are mostly irrelevant too since Level 70 characters pretty much have all the skills they'll actually need.
Clarification but otherwise agreeing. Not necessarily sure how that's an argument by any stretch of the imagination. Was more responding to the fact that they hadn't done any EO game playthrough yet and wanted to explain it.
And, really ... EO2 has Revenge Hexer. Why would anyone need to cheat that game~ With the right group, EO2 has arguably the easiest post-game so take that for what it's worth; this is more due to the absurdity of Revenge and certain skills (Dominate or Painless, basically) though.
