I need to add an appearance, but here's everything else I have so far. Do Alchemists have two glove thingies, or just one? I'm running under the assumption it's just one, but can easily change it if need be.
Name: Aaron Cloc
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Class: Alchemist
Nationality: A small farming village named Blueshire
Personality: Though naturally curious, Aaron also shows a large amount of restraint, having heard tales of people who dug too deep into something they didn’t fully understand and ultimately met their end. He is surprisingly smart for a person raised in the countryside, putting even a wayward professor to shame on an occasion. Having lived in a small village his whole life, Aaron is a bit naïve and too quick to trust others, he also is not accustomed to what larger cities have to offer and finds himself simply watching the bustling city and its people. To him, they represent all of the accomplishments humans have made.
Appearance: Aaron is a sharp contrast to the average farmhand’s son. While most are tall and athletic, Aaron is short and meek. His dull grey eyes hide behind pale skin and short black hair, which often sports a small cowlick on the front side just above his forehead. He often wears a light brown jacket that covers the majority of his body, and though it can be buttoned up he prefers to have only the top button done, so that he may use it as a cloak. Under that he wears a simple dark green shirt and light red pants. Around his neck is a simple pendant with a tree design.
Backstory: Blueshire is a two day walk away from Horizon. However, it is so secluded from the rest of the area that most people don’t even realize it exists. Likewise, the folks of Blueshire are ignorant to the happenings that surround them and instead focus on the work laid out in front of them. The village is mostly self-sufficient, but does import and export a few items via caravans. Because of this, most of the people in Blueshire are uninterested in education and instead put all of their effort into farming and defending themselves from bandits or wild beasts. Aaron, however, was not one of these people. He was far more interested in knowledge and books instead of strength and plows, and he requested books and writing utensils from the caravans instead of other goods. At first he was met with much resistance from his family and the rest of the village. “It’s not becoming of a boy your age,” they told him. “You should just focus on keeping food on the table.” But after months and eventually years of fighting, they realized that there was no changing the boy’s mind, and accepted him. Though at first the village said Aaron’s studies were a waste of time, they soon began enjoying his rambling ideas and the nights he spent reading tales out of a large book for the children.
He was happy, but he wanted more. The amount of knowledge that Blueshire had to offer him was quickly running dry, and Aaron felt as though he might explode if the caravan missed his delivery of books a third time. He decided that, with all of his current books read, it was time to learn first hand. He started small--using magnifying glasses and whatever other tools were at his disposal to study the world around him. He took to the outskirts to find quieter areas that were abandoned by humans and simply watched the world. One night, during his one of his regular walks by the dirt roads, he came across an old man walking towards the village. The man saw him and smiled, then walked towards Aaron. He introduced himself as Ruckus and talked with Aaron for a while. The man came from the main city of Horizon, and had decided to leave. Ruckus again smiled, telling him how Aaron reminded him of himself as a boy. Reaching into his bag, he produced a large gauntlet-type thing and handed it to Aaron.
“Lotta folks think that thing does all the work.” Ruckus explained. “But they’re wrong. If you don’t got the will, then there ain’t no way.” He emphasized the last word more than the others, which confused Aaron. “You got a gift, boy. Don’t let no one take that from you.” After a quick explanation on the power the glove gave, Ruckus took Aaron for a test drive. They spent the majority of the night fine tuning Aaron’s abilities until he had become proficient at spell casting. “You’re a natural, kid.” Ruckus said in his raspy voice. “Told ya you had a gift.” Soon after, Ruckus left. He told Aaron that Horizon held the answers he was looking for. After his departure, Aaron ran home and told his family his plans. There was some kind of commotion happening at Horizon, everyone knew that. Surely that’s what Ruckus was talking about. Taking a supplies and a handful of money, Aaron set off on the long two day walk to Horizon with his family‘s blessing.

Re: Horizon Odyssey, the Yggdrasil Labyrinth sign up thread
According to the Alchemist artworks, they sport two. But then Arthur came along and only wore one. I suppose it's a matter of how you want to portray it.
At the moment, I'm imagining Alchemists have to inject some substances into the gloves to fuel the spells and they need the right mixture(Chemistry Formulas) of the substances to create certain results. Willpower helps in controlling the power that comes out of those gloves. So, one glove is easier to control as you only manage one, two gloves will burn through your stock of the special substances faster and take more set up time but give much more powerful results.
Anyways, welcome to the world Aaron.

Re: Horizon Odyssey, the Yggdrasil Labyrinth sign up thread
*Edited skills
EHEHEHEHE~! I enjoy playing the less-than-pure characters, let's see how this will turn out...
Name: Victor Avary (prefers to be called Vic)
Age: 27
Gender: male
Class: Gunner
Nationality: Victor was born and raised in a small town near Lagaard called Lanai. Lanai is known for for it's export of quality guns used in wars around the world.
Personality: "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." Victor, while seeming warm and open; he is a liar and a traitor. Victor puts on a facade of a friendly, helpful and caring person, but that is not the case. Victor, while always seemingly ready to help out a fellow guildmate with dispatching monsters, quests or all-around chores; when it comes down to dire life-or-death straights, Victor has no problems leaving one of (or should the need arise, aiding) his "fellows" for dead just so long as he directly benefits from it or as long as his mission isn't compromised. As a personal need of his, he always wants to feel as if he is an asset where ever he goes, even if his goals are the farthest thing from his mind. One might say Victor is a risk-taker, and that would be true, but he is wise enough to know when the risks outweigh the rewards. He poses as a veteran with only a moderate amount of combat and gun expertise to give the illusion is is much less skillful than he actually is. He doesn't break his character unless his life or goal is in jeopardy (even then he is hesitant).
Appearance: Victor stands at a modest 6 feet and 3 inches. He has a lean frame built to take a hit or two and still keep trucking along. He doesn't like to wear heavier armor and is very satisfied with his dark green military-grade Lagaard uniform which he tailored for use in warmer climates. Victor has brown hair which he always keeps free of dirt and debris as well as a pair of marvelous green eyes. He carries two guns, one a small double-barreled pistol he calls "Bertha" (see EO2 gunner portraits) as his "go-to" weapon always ready for action, and a larger rifle he calls "Sasha" reserved only for tougher enemies which he keeps strapped over his back. He always keeps a medica and warpwire on his belt at all times should the need for them arise.
Backstory: Being born into a town of gunsmiths, Victor was introduced and antiquated with guns at an early age. Much of his childhood was dedicated to learning the craft of gunsmithing; and much more of it was dedicated to practicing the use of firearms. Often days he would spend hour upon hour firing upon cans, bottles, trees, you name it. He always wanted to have the perfect aim and the perfect gun.
This desire slowly grew over time. When he came of age, he left his town of Lanai and moved to Lagaard where he joined the military. During his time in the military, Victor developed a fascination for the local labyrinth, and he wasn't alone with that. Victor made friends with four of these like-minded individuals, and after a few years of combat training and experience from the military, the five of them made a guild and deserted in favor of seeking fame and fortune in the labyrinth.
At that time however, the Lagaard labyrinth had already been completely mapped, charted and thoroughly picked over by adventurers.
When the five of them heard tale of a new labyrinth with a similar tree appearing near a city called Horizon, the five of them jumped at a new chance for fame and riches. They were determined to be the first to discover the secrets, the first to discover new creatures, the first to find whatever is causing the earthquakes... and perhaps the first to use it for their own gains.
To their dismay however, they discovered that Horizon was already swarming with adventurers.
The guild's leader, Tobias, convinced a plan: the five of them would unofficially split up and each join a separate guild to cover more ground and obtain more information on the labyrinth. They would then internally relay what they have gathered with each other in secret for their own advantages. Being loyal only to each other, they were to eventually betray their guilds once they feel each of their fame and fortunes are secure.
It was a bold plan, but they were all determined to see it through to the end... No matter the cost.
Skills:
Gun 2* (snipe only with his rifle)
Double Attack 1* (only with handgun)
Note: His rifle "Sasha" is more powerful and accurate than his handgun, but it also has a slower attack speed and increases TP cost. Hopefully this is satisfactory.

I'm assuming the RP has started.
gah, I've gone and made my opening post ginormous again... I don't plan on having all of my posts be that large.

That's what she told me. Apparently she's told the Admins, and Archaic posted a ticket, other than that, not a clue.

I had the same issues when trying to post from Uni, but at least my home network's fine. Could it be a case of internet protection software? I remembered having to download a software that becomes active when using the university's internet.

Re: Horizon Odyssey, the Yggdrasil Labyrinth sign up thread
Name: Emile De Escalade, The Duchess of Tempest
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Class: War Magus
Nationality: The kingdom of Albis. The country pride themselves on being the best of the best. As they defeated and took over several would-be conquerors, it is a boast well-earned.
Personality: It is said a Albis noblewoman is the epitome of a proper lady. Emile however, is the complete opposite. Rude and prone to scathing comments to everything, this particular habit hasn't done much to earn her quick friends. It doesn't bother her in the slightly however, and nor does she stress about any problem in fact. Looking past her rather bitter remarks, one can find a honest person who's rather tired of the friction between nobility and the common people, and would rather treat everyone fairly, regardless of status. Although she does like going into the superiority of a Albis (wo)man, but whether or not it's self-deprecation or actual nationalism is hard to tell (perhaps a bit of both). She also enjoys a good fight, which is a rather quick way to win her respect.
Appearance: Emile is a average height for a woman, although her domineering attitude gives her a far larger presence. She keeps her blonde hair in a short shaggy style, and her eyes are of a dark blue. For wear, she wear a open red coat that shows off her rather modest grey uniform fit for a soldier, a white shirt tucked in dark brown pants with similarly coloured leather boots.
Backstory: The Escalade family were well known in Albis, faithfully serving the king ever since the very beginning of the kingdom. The males trained in the well-rounded ways of the War Magus and ruling as Duke of Tempest, while the women kept the household. Which proved a problem when the current head of house fell sick, and his wife passed with only daughters.
Emile was the oldest daughter, and so she was the heir. Even back when she was a child, she disliked being forced doing any "feminine" things, and often sneaked away and practiced swordplay with . Her father encouraged her behavior, even teaching her the basics of a magus, as long as she'd help sort his paperwork (which proved helpful later on). She'd often mingle with peasants, and there was always a story or two about the "Little Storm" causing mischief, much to her family's predicament. This all changed when she had to become the head.
It was tough work. Although following the steps of a War Magus felt second nature to her, all the politics and affairs within were harrowing to her. What deeply troubled her was the problems between the classes. There wasn't a day where she didn't find someone complaining around a rude baron. While the second-in-line, Priscilla, help kept the administration of the job back, Emile did a few sneaky activities against those who would've just gotten away scot-free. This gained her many friends in the lowborn, while getting the same amount of enemies in the highborn.
This came to a head during the Horizon incident. While Albis was busy staring down its enemies and Horizon itself, Emile happily decided to use this as a opportunity to sneak away from her occupation. This lets her sister take over a job that she personally didn't care for (and which Priscilla coveted, for some reason), let her have actual fun for a change, and gave her a way to get more influence within the Kingdom. After all, wouldn't being the one who found out what was happening let her speak a bit more freely about the problems in the country?

Re: Horizon Odyssey, the Yggdrasil Labyrinth sign up thread
Here's a list of Victor's friends in his 'real' guild. I've only really thought Tobias through as a character at the moment, I'll add the other 3 fully before I introduce them to the RP though. They'll mainly be used for town interaction, so think of them as just supporting characters who may appear for a post or two. Hopefully this is satisfactory, while still being unfinished as of yet.
Name: Tobias A. Stokes
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Class: Survivalist
Personality: Tobias is interesting. He's always joking, taking very few things seriously and seemingly unable to focus on a single goal. Playing the fool is one thing he is exceptional at, and it can be convincing to even some of the most inquisitive of people. He seems easily distract-able, but will never take his eyes off his goal. Beyond his clown-like persona, his mind is as sharp and on-point as one can be. Tobias is the ring-leader for Victor's real guild and is easily the most dedicated of the five.
Appearance: He is always seen with an interesting garb. He wears a tattered up cloak with countless patches of different colors. He enjoys wearing an overly exaggerated robin-hood style hat and keeps a quiver full of arrows on his back, and a smaller quiver by his waist. He is never seen without his bow.
name: Sid Pyle
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Class: Protector
Personality: Cold and stoic, follows Tobias without question. (unfinished)
Appearance: ???
Name: Catherine Agnew
Age: ???
Gender: Female
Class: Dark Hunter
Personality: (I'm still debating what kind of person I want her to be)
Appearance: ???
Name: Clorette Rothman
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Class: Medic
Personality: To say Clorette is unique is an understatement. She, at times seems to have two different personality types: in the first, she takes the role of an overly-friend girl who often can't take the hint that she's worn out her welcome. And the other has an uncontrollable bloodlust, while she herself doesn't directly fight claiming she doesn't want to get her hands dirty, she is more than content to cut up, sever, dissect and dismember fallen monsters "in the name of science."
Appearance:

Re: Horizon Odyssey, the Yggdrasil Labyrinth sign up thread
Rise, I got a question. Reo said "I don't care about what you do or what sort of plan you have with your friends,..." I can't tell if her referring to Vic's fellows is an oversight or if Reo suspects more than Victor and Tobias are involved.
