One way to not have much trouble (especially technical crap) is perhaps to not make it as a game.
I kinda like the idea where each of us have our own character(s) continuing a "never-ending" story. Perhaps everyday(or week), one randomly picked person will be the GM, and decides a "plot device" to lead the story for everyone else to continue (writing about).
Plot devices can be anything. For example, "Locate the hidden treasure/entrance/exit..." to something like "You have 24 hours to do something something, or else something something...".
Others who aren't the GM during the period, will have to write (and post) the story/journal on how their character(s) proceed along the plot. Maybe you want them to succeed, fail, or not even bother with it?
Problems we might face?:
Might have to think more on how to make sure it doesn't get "messy", since there isn't any link to each of our characters. I may have my character go kill a pot for eg. while someone else simply sleeps, under the same plot device.
Also, once it's time to decide a new plot device, we could perhaps rate each other and give EXP/rewards for how we dealt with the scenario.
tl;dr --> think of it like a progressive community fanfic story/journal, where each of us will decide the "plot of the day (week)" to write about. Everyone's the GM.
[hide]Pretty busy at the moment actually. But kinda "burned" out to continue thinking/writing my report, and instead thought of this ._. [/hide]
edit: spotted a typo, lol >.<

Should I be sad if I find my posting skyrockets only because this forum was created?
Because I have wanted to RP in like forever.

Aerien's idea is dynamite.
Why don't we start a thread for each new plot device. First post is the GM who creates the thread and gives an idea of the story.
Such as "A new quest is available at the Bar. It involves hunting down a dreaded monster in the 4th floor of the Labyrinth" blahblahlblah etc
Players then start posting. GM jumps in when appropriate to post regarding monster attacks, NPC dialoge, whatever.
So we build the story in a loose, flowing way?
