: D YESSSSSSSSSSS
Coookiiiieeeessss! And LOVE! I will share one but not the other.
...You reckon we've gone too far off-topic?
<insert book selection stuff here>
Actually, I do need to start thinking about what I'll choose for the book club when the time comes... o_o;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; I was leaning toward Alfred Bester's The Stars My Destination, but I don't want to put anyone off with sci-fi. It's just so good. I want to share the experience of absolutely loathing the main character and then coming to admire and even like him at the end.

I like sci fi!!
Also I can't find Wicked Gentlemen in the library and this displeases me. I really don't want to spend more moneyyyyy. But I have time. I can request it and stuff.

Re: Book Selections and Meeting Dates
Nessy, if you have any problems with inter-library loan on that one, let me know. I've come across some book credit at Powell's and I'm keeping a chunk in reserve for emergency book club purchases.
That goes to everyone, by the way. Don't bankrupt me or anything, but if you're truly under duress from a certain selection I'll see what I can help finagle.

Re: Book Selections and Meeting Dates
@Last Unicorn
yes. It's not a very long book :3
@Nessy
HM. Well, you're Canadian. I can't imagine your library functions way differently, but you should have the ability to request inter-library loan books... Basically you put in a request at your library, and they put out a request to all the libraries in your province for the book. When the book arrives, they'll notify you to come pick it up. Generally I'd advise 1-2 weeks for request fulfillment, but keep in mind that you generally have limitations on how long you can keep the book, when/if you can renew it, and the fines are slightly increased for late returns on ILL books.
Anyway! http://www.worldcat.org is a great resource -- searches all libraries, not just your local. Looks like the Edmonton library has a copy, so, great!
Next we'll check at http://www.talonline.ca which is the Alberta Online system where you can place loan requests for pick up at your local. I found it by searching "Wicked Gentlemen" and selecting specifically that this was the "Title"
Then just click "Request this Book" and fill out the form. Looks like they'll probably email you when it's ready for pick up. You can specify to which branch of the Calgary library you'd like to have the book sent.
And you should be good to go!
