Well, technically, STR still affects it - because STR affects ATK.
What I think is more valuable to know from that is that it seems that ATK and ELM forges/enhances have diminishing returns - since it seems 8x ATK and 8x ELM would deal the same damage, but 16x ATK < 8x ATK+8x ELM. (not that you'd ever have enough things going on for this to matter with the above obviously demonstrated but anyway)
Generally though I'm to understand ATK (or ELM for elemental weapon skills) forge are better for amplifying damage than STR because they're a % boost while STR is just a straight +1 attack? Or something like that (I could very well be very wrong and it wouldn't surprise me if, due to the possibility of ATK forges having diminishing returns illustrated above, there's a point at which you want to mix the two)

I've been trying to roll Arcanist/Medic as a healer but she can't heal nearly as well as my medic before. I mean, the walk that passively heals you is nice, but in battle her circle boon heals are super low and her normal heals from the medic subclass heal very little as well.
Do I need to wait for higher levels for her to shine as "arguably the best healer" in the game? Her level is 41 atm

I think the Medic gets most of their early healing boost from their class Proficiency/Expertise/Enlightenment skills then. At the Master level though, there is also another skill, Heal Mastery, which has the same effect of increasing the recovery amount. It requires points in a lot of preceding skills though.

Not sure if anyone pointed this out, but there's a small error on OP's Imperial/Fortress evaluation. An Imperial CAN carry a shield if subclassed Fortress (or Landsknecht).
Not that this should boost your rating of them any higher. I personally use an Imperial/Fortress for the aesthetic appeal (I have 3 imperials on my front line, initially planned for 4 until I realized the early fan translation of their weapon, "gunblade", wasn't what it sounded like...), but I wouldn't recommend it. It doesn't perform any better than I would imagine Fort/Imp would, and even then, as you pointed out, Fort/Imp doesn't offer anything over your standard Fort/Landy build would.
But hey, in a game like EO, it's not always about performance...!

Something I always wondered, do ELM forges affect untyped damage (Origin Rune, Accel Drive, etc.)?
