Runemasters are massively overpowered.

Most reliable way of killing no chemical hands down. Of course, you lose a lot of points for lack of style with it.

Imperial/Bushi are only slightly better at killing elemental dragons, while Fallen One can be given weaknesses via runes to make Runemaster equal to, if not superior to the Imperial/Bushi, at Fallen slaying. I end up scoring 3 turn kills consistently with mass Rune/Bushi on Elemental Dragons, sometimes getting 2 turn kills depending on the Blood Surge pre activations. Fallen one is 3-4 turns with a 3 runemaster backrow.

They have amazing AoE, they have amazing single target, they abuse weaknesses, they can GIVE the enemy a weakness, they don't deal their damage in sudden bursts so they have great consistency (*cough* Imperial *cough*) and they can occasionally even block elemental attacks. This, and they can do this from the backrow too. Putting up a Bushi sub (arguably the best sub available for Rune)also lets them endure a heavy hit, so not much worry in terms of durability either, as long as you kill fast enough.

Of course, Nightseeker is also pretty strong if used correctly due to their overall utility along with great damage, although I still personally think Runes are the most overpowered characters since they require less luck (Status hitting, Follow Trace activating, the like) and are very straightforward to use.

I'm probably going to do the cheap thing and get a squishy R/I in addition to my I/R... altho I don't mind putting him in the back, I just want to stuff my fortress full of elemental block.
