When the game was first announced, I recall rumors saying that you could change the classes of the story mode characters. Now I hear that you can't. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I know Grimoire stones are a thing, but I wanted to know if complete reclassing is possible.

Also, in regards to unlocking the gunner class for classic mode, do you get to make your own gunner? Or do you just get to use Frederica in classic mode?

Okay, I'm confused.

If I go Classic > Story > Classic, can I have both my characters from the first Classic run and the Story characters when I do Classic again?

I think doing classic after story might override the stuff from your previous classic run...

Huh? I don't see any reason why it would. Classic characters aren't special like story ones. (Story ones don't get overwritten either AFAIK anyway)

Yeah but new game + only brings in things from your previous game so there's no way to have stuff from two games ago unless it carried into the previous game

and classic game characters don't carry into story mode

Last I heard, classic characters carry into Story Mode, it's just you're not allowed to take them out of the explorer's guild- so they're simply inaccessible until NG+'d back into Classic.

I haven't actually done this before, (I played Story first and I'm waiting until the game isn't fresh in my memory before doing Classic NG+) so I could be wrong, but it would make the most sense if it functioned this way and I vaguely recall hearing that it did.
