Agh it hurts, it HURTS~ Why did I pick Expert mode?! (Probably because that's closest to the original)

After a rough time levelling to 3, my party's doing pretty damn good! About to hit B2F and I'm level 4, almost level 5. my party form is:

Front: Protector (Matt), Dark Hunter (Charlotte)
Back: Troubadour (Loli-chan), Alchemist(Jason), Medic(Marren)

Careful, Expert is no joke...but if you've hit a pretty good rhythm then you will do alright. Your team is solid.

I knew it wouldn't be EASY, but being hit for half my HP on protector at level 1 from TREE RATS of all things was a heck of a wake-up call...perhaps I just got too cozy with the almighty Fortress from EO4 :P

EO4 was just easy. The end.

Perhaps not as compared to some other games, but I can definitely see that compared to EO1.

Or maybe my EO4 team just sucked at major bosses, even though I was mostly obliterating normal encounters and sub-bosses.

Haha, yeah. I'll concede the point. In the world of EO games EO4 is like the little kid brother. Not as great as the others but still part of the family. And EO games are hardly "easy" compared to other games.

Yeah, it definitely suffered from a few balance issues, but I enjoyed the boss battles. More difficult than what practice had prepared you for, but still a thrilling experience that didn't completely render you senseless, drowning in a puddle of tears in the darkest corner of the room.

Hah XD Well, I find the kid brother description quite fitting, and I'm glad I got EO4 as a warm up. I usually didn't have problems with the "mid" bosses after stratum 1 in EO4 (hell, the boss of the 5th stratum maze I blew through without any problems, to the point that I was able to drop them the turn that The actual stratum bosses, though, all appeared to put up a heck of a fight.

The music, though...all the music tracks in these games are so lovely. @_@

My previous "hardest rpg" prior to the EO series was Persona 4 expert mode--which, really, other than the first dungeon, and then a monster in the spa dungeon self-destructing for double my max health, didn't even seem that bad once I got rolling (with exception for the final boss; if I didn't keep buffed / it debuffed I died.)

That Zebrinthium (or whatever the heck the striped ape is called) is a jerk. Thankfully my DH dodged its Arm Hammer move until I could bind its arms. Otherwise, lowbie B2F land is progressing relatively smoothly.

Classic EO poison damage!

You should see Venomflies in EO3.
