Re: EO NEWS - NEW GAME TEASED?
EO2 definitely doesn't have my favorite class in it. So I'm definitely not interested.
...
As for EO2's polish. Well to it's credit, it IS more polished than the original EO1 IMO. EO1 had its fair share of underpowered classes as well, and its in a more extreme case in post-game, with 3 classes being glued to your party composition if you want to have any hope of being successful. I'll admit though, EO2's difficulty curve is a bit awkward. It has the roughest 1st strata in the series and the 3rd strata boss is ridiculous if you're not exploiting Limits or Hexers. The final boss () is also pathetic, especially when compared to the others in the series.
At any rate, EO2 had a lot of high points in the series IMO. I felt that the maps were the most well designed out the series. Plus I loved the seasonal take on most of the strata. It also has my favorite 6th strata, even though its feel is completely different from the others in the series.
Also I have a really soft spot for all the NPCs... well except the Inn Keeper.

Re: EO NEWS - NEW GAME TEASED?
I'd also like to mention that EOII drastically improved the speed of battle to the point where replaying EOI after finishing II was almost agonizing. Not to mention being able to swap character status screens and strafe with L/R.
As for EOII's polish, strata 2-4 really tried to break the game, considering how obvious it was that the DS' hardware struggled in certain areas to not dip below 20FPS thanks to certain environmental effects. This is made even more obvious when attempting to double, triple, or even quadruple the internal resolution:
Starting with II, it appears that they were trying to put higher resolution textures/models into the game that the hardware just couldn't handle.
This is evident even in more close up textures:
It goes without saying that they tried to up the ante with the presentation in the next game, but the differences are certainly more pronounced in EOIII:
^ Yeah, this isn't EOII, but still fun to show ;D

Ah, I've seen that around the interwebs before.
Makes me really wish that the Forest Folk were playable as well (at least they brought one back in EOIII).

That would be bananas.

Re: EO NEWS - NEW GAME TEASED?
felt like a completely different race, IMO
The Forest Folk had various types of tribesman, not just debuff mages.

Re: EO NEWS - NEW GAME TEASED?
I wonder if ATLUS is gonna remake all the non 3ds EO games? That being the first 3 games. Also will they focus on these remakes before possibly making EO V ?
Will this possible EO2 "deluxe" version also have story/classic mode? SO many damn questions!
>_<
