Have you ever attempted a solo run before? Here's some general advice based on personal experience:
- Level up and then, level up some more. Especially in the beginning, you desperately need the levels to even stand a chance againt two moles.
- Don't hesitate to use your Force Break. For Protector's, that's Absolute Defense, which negates all damage for one turn. Use it when you anticipate a deadly attack and/or when you need a passive heal - even in normal encounters.
- Don't forget your offense! What's better than healing any damage you'd take? Right, killing the monsters before they can damage you. Protectors have two offensive skills, of which one hits more than one enemy. Using Grimoires is also okay, and because of that...
- Abuse the Grimoire system! Seriously, in an Expert solo run, you WILL want to take every advantage you can get your hands on. Especially Healing Rhythm (you can get one pretty early on in the game) is a great passive skill. Don't forget advertising the cafe, since the guests will sometimes carry pretty useful stuff.
- Try to unlock as many items in the shop as possible. Every point of ATK and DEF is valuable!

Keep Guard is probably a good skill to take in a solo P. It protects one party member for 2 turns and prevents you from using shield skills on the next turn as a downside. I've never found it useful in a normal game (it's just as effective as Front/Rear Guard) but in solo, you could just use it, be protected for the next turn and attack on that same turn.
