Pillboxes and bunkers are the only summons that won't stay after battle. They can't walk.

The labyrinth must be a war zone with all the pillboxes and bunkers left behind by other adventurers.

I think mechanically I absolutely love the bunkers and pillboxes. But let's put this in perspective....

(quick google searches)
Japanese bunkers:


Japanese pillboxes:


I have questions. Where are the Dragoons keeping the materials for these? Even if we try to imagine a simplified version of this stuff. And just how long are battles lasting in real time if they have to stop to construct these?

Or are we just imagining these just laying around the labyrinth already?

XD I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around this.

Are those named "bunker" and "pillbox" though? (I have no idea what the upper one is, though the bottom looks like a shield.)

As careful as the naming conventions usually are, I can't imagine they would name something different in this game than their intentions.

They also changed one (but only one) of three selfimprovement-terms from "studying" to "talent".
"Magic weapon" to "clever strike" seems peculiar, too. It's used by literal magic-users.

Personally? My own complaint is that I can't level them past lvl. 10 to get rid of the caterpillar FOEs. I may need to do that later.
