Etrian Odyssey V for 3DS launches August 4 in Japan

They're triggered by a passive skill, and though it's available at level 1, I don't think it's active by default.
I'm not sure, but I don't remember events disappearing in previous games.

Therians seem to be decent Fencers, Reapers, Cestuses, and possibly Shamans or Dragoons.

The only reason I really care about covering my bases with status effects and binds is conditional drops lol. Do you happen to know how available Formaldehyde is? I would rather just buy a bunch of those and have the party I want (see below). Also where did you see forging?

I think it was on GameFAQs somebody mentioned forging. Said you don't get to decide what to increase, but didn't go into detail on what happens instead.

Formaldehyde is supposed to be a relatively easy conditional drop to get in random encounters of the sixth stratum.

Oh nice! The week EOV came out in Japan, it was #1 in sales for the week ^w^
No idea how it's doing atm, but I'm sure it's not too shabby!

Has anyone seen any news on NA/EU release at all? The want within me for this game makes it hard to go on every day without it... lol

It'll probably be released in January next year if it follows the release trend as the other games.

Also EU release? Probably an even longer wait sadly. This is why I import things.

Looking over the skill data I think this will probably be my final lineup:
Reaper / Cestus
Warlock / Shaman / Herbalist

Making the Warlock the damage dealing centerpiece with magic defense lowering buffs and magic raising buffs. Cestus is there because I don't like tanks. I have binds, I don't need a tank. Head binds apparently don't lower magic defense anymore though. What a shame...

I'm a bit worried about the voices. Keeping the Japanese voices might make the licensing costs a lot higher, but replacing them with English voices isn't a good alternative (both because bleh, English, and because that'd just mean hiring a whole bunch of English voice actors instead). It might be the only feasible option is to drastically reduce voicing, which would also suck.
