It's really bothering me that both Turrón and Toruń are good names.

Made it to 3F. Everyone's lv8 right now.

Also happy because I just killed my first FOE, a Toxipede, on my first attempt at it which I was not at all expecting to win. I just wanted to see its stats, try to kill it, then formulate a plan for handling it after my death.

Honestly...Poison Fang was the one thing keeping it from being a bit of a joke. If the poison proc'd, it'd be enough to kill anyone due to the damage Poison Fang does on its own.

...Or that's what I lead myself to believe. The reality is that the first person to eat a Poison Fang was my Dragoon, X. Thought that was going to be the moment where everything went south and my inevitable first game over would happen....unless the healing from Animal Therapy decides to let him live with 8 hp (healed him for 9 I think). Kill my badass maverick hunter will you? I think not Toxipede.

Hell, the only person to die during the fight was my Botanist, Iris. Poison Fang + poison proc = Oh dear. I did have two Nectars though so not a big issue to bring her back.

Now...just gotta make enough money to buy that shiny new weapon for Rex ;D.

I've scanned all the guild card QRs that I could find, and I've noticed that a few of the ones from GameFAQs have the stamps for getting 10% of monsters.

Anyone know how they managed that in the demo? AFAIK I've found all the monsters available and mapped everything.

I have 9.67% of the monstrous codex, but guilds FantaTrup and Ivalia both have 10.48%.
I also have 11.53% of the item compendium, but guild Melody has 12.01%.

Rare stuff, I guess?

No, I've been grinding for materials and en for long enough to catch all the rare stuff.

One thing I found is that the first lemur event might get you into a battle with a monster from a higher floor if you choose the bad alternative (you'd miss the second event though). If that's true it would explain both discrepancies. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, I just read about it on GameFAQs. If you choose to walk through the mud instead of using the stick, you get into a battle with a Venomous Leech, which otherwise doesn't occur on the floors available in the demo. Ah well.

Can't check out the demo until like, a day or 2 before the full release due to personal circumstances, but there is one thing I have to know beforehand: Are the sound levels in the game good? etrian odyssey 4 had amazing sound levels, but millennium girl's was terrible, and I haven't played untold 2 yet, so I don't know about that one.

Whether the sound levels are really good or not will determine whether or not I buy an amp to have good sound levels. I am not going to put up with another sound travesty like what Millennium Girl did.

The possibilities of the past and future are as various as our imaginations. How far we can think, and what we can think of, is dependent on each of us, and what we believe in.

I've hit a bit of a brick wall in the demo as of late: motivation. I don't want to continue without getting my demo-> release team squared away but I can't be bothered to gut them and remakes them in the race reclass I want. bah.

That said, i;ve got things mapped out finally, but with everything said, I'm actually considering a Celestrian Rover.... Is this a dumb idea? their str and agi are pretty low, but the TP for actually using skills seems more beneficial...? I don't know

EDIT: I forgot to even include why I'm even considering not having a Therian! my team as it is would have 3 therians. I just wanted a little bit of diversity. An Earthlain would be great as well, but between an earthlain's STR/AG/TP vs a Clestrian, who would realistically come out ahead as a Rover?
Hitting harder or being able to use the abilities in the first place?

That's pretty much the gist of it. The lunarian is simply worse turn by turn, but can last quite a bit longer without food.

As you say, you'll lose out on the AGI and utilizing the STR of a Therian, but would be able to use the command abilities more as a Celestrian. One positive side to a Celestrian might be the Animal Therapy* passive. According to the in-game description for it, it does function off the Wisdom stat. However, it doesn't specify if that's off the pet's or the Rover's stat. If it is scaling off the Rover then a Celestrian should provide a much higher healing rate over Therian.

*I could get around to testing this, but it would be a while (If I ever do it) since I'm taking a break from the demo. If I were to test this, I'll probably create a Brouni version as well.

Well if TP food is plentiful later on, then I think I would prefer an earthlain over a celestrian, if only for the racials (solo party heal, duo raise, etc.)

But on the other hand, Celestrian doesnt strickly need to be attacking... they can use that turn using lick wounds or something... gah, I don't know.

either that or just run around with 3 therians

I am thinking about recustomizing my Harbinger girl and making her a Rover instead. I already have a Dragoon in my party though. I am noticing my lack of healing but need a passive healer while I do attacks. Tips?

well outside of the demo, one of harbinger's specialist lines can drop miasma for a party heal. both shaman and rover have passive healing. necro has the sacrifice spirits things..

Outside of that, you have earthlains union skill. I dont know how reliably you can charge union gauge, but its a party heal with just the 1 person.

Rover sounds like a good choice to me. You don't have to use the Bunkers if they'll interfere with a Rover. A single Rover can send out both a Hawk and Hound, doing both attack and healing each turn, respectively. Then decide later on whether you want to do more actions with the Hawk or the Hound.
